The readers’ theater production We Did It For You! has received reviews such as, “I was moved to tears,” and, “Never has my heart been so deeply touched by a production.”
On Saturday, March 1, 2014, at 1 p.m. , in the auditorium of Notre Dame Academy, 3535 W. Sylvania Ave., Toledo, members of the American Association of University Women (AAUW) will present We Did It For You!
“There was a time when women had no rights in America,” writes Dr.Thea Iberall, the author. “This is the story of how it changed, told by the women who were there.”
Dr. Iberall wrote We Did It For You! for the “Women’s Journey Conference” in 2010, and has presented it to numerous audiences since then, including celebrants of the 100th Anniversary of International Women’s Day when the play was live-streamed to 176 countries.
The cast members on March 1st will be volunteers from Northwest Ohio AAUW branches: Toledo, Bowling Green, Defiance, Findlay, Lima, Sandusky, Tiffin, and Van Wert. They will rehearse their parts from 9 a.m. -12:00 Noon in a session directed by Dr. Iberall herself. They will enjoy box lunches with pre-paid audience members from Noon to 1:00 p.m. and present We Did It For You! thereafter.
To purchase a box lunch, send a check for $15 payable “AAUW/Toledo” by Feb. 20 to Marge Lee, 5241 Pine Grove Ct., Toledo, OH 43615-2975 and plan to arrive at 12 Noon on March 1. The production at 1:00 p.m. is free and open to the public.
Educational pre and post-show materials will be provided; high school and college students, women’s organizations, and PTOs are particularly encouraged to attend.
